Elke Steiner's comics particularly deal with Jewish life and history. She worked with Israeli Author Edgar Keret and publishes strips and illustrations in the Jüdische Allgemeine Wochenzeitung. For the Deutsche Ärzteblatt (weekly journal of German medical associations), she makes comics biographies of famous doctors as well as the weekly strip 'Doc+Doctrix'. She is a member of the Zweiter Gang network in Berlin and runs comics workshops. She graduated in graphic design in 1999 with 'Die Giftmischerin'.
