Dark Nebula, by David de Vries and Glenn Lumsden 1989

David de Vries was born in New Zealand in 1961 and moved to Melbourne, Australia with his parents. He studied painting and started his comic career in the early 1980s, working for 'Cyclone', 'Southern Squadron', Mad Magazine and Penthouse. Alongside Gary Chaloner and Glenn Lumsden, he started Cyclone Comics to ensure that their characters could be published while remaining under their control. In 1988, he teamed up with Glenn Lumsden, and together they have worked for several comic publishers in Australia and the United States, most notably for DC Comics and Marvel. Together with David Heinrich, Rod Tobely and Dave Williams, they also founded the Barossa Studios.

Series and books by David de Vries in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
