The Avengers by Daniel Acuna
The Avengers #18

Fine Arts-graduate Daniel Acuña began his career working as a team with fellow artist Santiago Arcas. Their partnership came to fruition in the fanzine El Tío Saín. Their way of working was rather unusual: Arcas scripted and roughed out the pages, and Acuña did the final draft in his own inimitable style. They gained fame with their 'Claus y Simón' series, that was published by Spanish publisher La Cupula between 1998 and 2001, as well as the French publisher Albin Michel and the US magazine Heavy Metal.

Acuña got the opportunity to work for the US market, starting with an unpublished mini-series for Marvel Comics. He became a cover artist for DC's 'Justice League of America' and 'Outsiders' series. While continuing to do cover art, he also did the interiors for the DC mini-series 'Uncle Sam & the Freedom Fighters' in 2006-07. He also did fill-ins on 'Flash' and 'Green Lantern'.
