Yves Albrechts, who uses the pseudonym Kapreles, was born in 1978 in Belgium. He started drawing at the age of five. In 1996, his first work was published. Kapreles' illustrations, cartoons and comics have appeared in magazines all over the world, such as Gonzo Circus, Beeldstorm (Belgium), Hôpital Brut (France), Malefact (USA), Mono Grafico (Spain) and Bitterkomix (South Africa). Yves Albrechts self-published the following titles: 'Kapréles' in 1996; 'Kapreles Artware' and 'Kapreles Underwear' in 1997; 'De Illustere Illustrator' in 1998 and 'Something Else' in 2000.

Kapreles' primitive art and absurd, rude humor is inspired by artists like Gary Panter, Mark Beyer and Matthias Giesen.
