Ramón Alonso Fernández was the artist of 'Azor' and 'Relampago' in the 1960s, an effort of the Mexican publisher La Prensa to create their own superhero comics. He also drew the 'Batman' inspired 'El Murcielago' with scripts by Antonio Cortess in the 1950s. Alonso was a contributor to comic book collections like Vidas Ilustres (biographies of Charlie Chaplin, Demóstenes, etc.), Tesoro de Cuentos Clásicos and Leyendas de América for Editorial Novaro.
