Amador García Cabrera was a technician and a mechanic before he turned to an artistic profession. He showed his first drawings to Josep Toutain and he soon became an "agency artist", doing comics on demand. He drew for Josep Toutain's Selecciones Ilustradas agency from 1961 ('Donely Rock'), and also the British Fleetway ('Dogfight Dixon', 'Humbert Higs'). For the French market, he illustrated 'Davy Crockett' in Vaillant in 1960.

He drew for numerous foreign publishers, like Semic in Sweden ('Elephant Boy', 'Shi Kay', 'Starlet'), Bastei and Koralle Verlag in Germany ('Conny'), DC Thomson in the UK ('Commando'), Holgo in The Netherlands and Western Publishing (USA). His work also appeared in the horror magazine Creepy.
