'Blolo Bian'.
Bertin Prosper Amanvi was born in 1974 in Ivory Coast, Africa. He graduated from the Academy of the Fine Arts in Abidjan. Amanvi became a teacher of sculpture at the Jacqueville High School in Ivory Coast. He created the comic 'Blolo Bian, l'Amant de l'Au-dDlà'. Although written in French, this black & white comic story of 30 pages is published in Italy by Lai-momo Publisher. According to the artist himself, his work has been influenced by his interest in the Belgian art nouveau, and he is inspired by masters like Hugo Pratt, Tardi and Ryoichi Ikegami. Amanvi works only with black ink, proceeding through "applats", underlined with lines effects realized with rapidograph and pencil. Amanvi's work was exhibited in Italy, in the exhibition "Matite Africane". For this exhibition, Amanvi designed the poster and the cover of the catalogue, for which he received an award.
