Spyros Andrianos is a Greek cartoonist, active in his country's indie comics scene through participations in Comic Cultura and Epifany Comics.
Early life
Spyros Andrianos was born in 1977. From 1992 to 1994, he took courses in sketching, painting and animation at a private school with teachers such as Nikos Maroulakis, Yiannis Logothetis, Christos Dimou and others. As a comic creator, he has been influenced by artists such as Bud Sagendorf, Pierluigi Sangalli, Leo Baxendale, Reiser, Édika, E.C. Segar, Osamu Tezuka, André Franquin and Jean Tabary.
Cartoonist
Andrianos was featured in the short-lived magazine Real Comics, where he won the magazine's "Best Script" award for his autobiographical comic 'Comic Maniac'. Since then, he created many other comic strips, mostly appearing online, including 'Alex the Squirrel', the witch 'Hope Winslow' (created with his wife Elodie), 'Spunky', 'Max Farmer', 'Red Hood Unbound' and 'LOL Patrol'.
An avid comic collector, Andrianos has been maintaining the Comic Maniacs news blog since 2018. Together with fellow comics fan Iona Aggelis, he launched the online magazine Comic Cultura (2018-2020), which contained both comics and background articles. Starting in 2019, he and his wife Elodie Kohler Andrianou have been involved in the Greek anthology comic magazine Epifany Comics.
