Born in Barcelona, Lola Anglada was a well-known Catalan illustrator and writer for children's books and magazines. As an illustrator and comic artist, she was a disciple of Joan Llaverias and she worked with magazines like En Jordi, En Patufet (and its supplement Virolet), La Nuri, and La Mainada. Before the Civil War, Anglada published popular books with her own stories, such as 'Monsenyor Llandardaix', and 'En Peret i Margarida'. After the war she continued to write and illustrate books like 'En Martinet', 'La Barcelona dels Nostres Avis' and 'La Meva Casa i el Meu Jardí'.
