'Bér Bizaar'. Translation: "That parachute was apparently not meant to blow your nose!".
Anna was the pen name of Marc Palmans, a Belgian artist from Sint-Huibrechts-Lille, Pelt. In the late 1990s and early 2000s he made the weekly comic 'Bèr Bizaar' for the local weekly Groot Weekblad Lommel.
Bèr Bizaar
'Bèr Bizaar' is a big-nosed man in overalls who, as his name implies, acts bizarre or finds himself in bizarre situations. Some gags have his wife as a side character, other a strange, turnip-like creature. The gag comic ran in 1998-2000 in Groot Weekblad Lommel, a weekly distributed in the Flemish village Lommel in the province Limburg. In 2000 a landscape format compilation booklet, 'Bèr Bizaar. Altijd Te Laat Is Ook Een Regelmaat' was published by L'Ombelico Production, in cooperation with this magazine.
Identity
It is unknown why Palmans used the pen name "Anna" for this obscure comic strip. No further comics are known by him, leaving one to assume this was a one-time only excursion into comic strips.
