Lyrio Aragão Dias was a Brazilian policeman, as well as an artist of terror and police stories. In the 1960s he worked for the publishing house Outubro, starting out as the assistant of Jayme Cortez. He was a contributor to Terror Magazine and created characters like 'Detetive Otávio' and 'Paula'. In the early 1960s he created the comic 'Detetive Teobaldo' which was distributed through Maurício de Sousa Produções.

Aragão used the characters, strange places and situations which he encountered during his days as a police officer in São Paulo as an inspiration for his comic stories. He also worked for the McCann-Erickson agency, and shared a studio with Igayara, Luiz Saidenberg and Julio Shimamoto (Estúdio da Alcântara Machado Propaganda). Lyrio Aragão took his own life in late 1968.
