Yoshitoh Asari was born in 1962 in Hokkaido. He worked at the ministry of Finance before becoming a mangaka. He is also known as a manga critic. Asari debuted in 1981 with 'Mokusei Picket Line' in Shônen Sunday, which was followed by several short stories. His longest running and most popular serial is the space manga 'Uchûkazoku Karlbinson' (1986-97). Other mangas by Asari are 'Manga Science' and 'Wahhaman' (1992-99).
