After successfully completing his studies in Plastic Arts, Philippe Aymond was encouraged to pursue a career in comics by Alexandre Coutelis in 1987. Two years later, Aymond joined the art studios directed by Jean-Claude Mézières and Pierre Christin, where he worked on the series 'Canal Choc', together with Hugues Labiano, Philippe Chapelle and scenarist Christin until 1992. Aymond and Christin continued their collaboration at Dargaud with the one shots 'L'Homme qui Fait le Tour du Monde' (with art by Aymond and Max Cabanes, 1994) and 'Les Voleurs de Villes' (1997), and the adventure series 'Les 4x4' (1997-2000).

In 2001 he teamed up with Laurent-Frédéric Bollée to create 'ApocalypseMania', that was published by Dargaud until 2010. He also did the coloring of the Bollée series 'A.D. Grand-Rivière', that was drawn by Al Coutelis between 2001 and 2003. Philippe Aymond is the artist of the political espionage series 'Lady S' by Jean Van Hamme since 2005. In addition, he established himself as an allround author with his solo series 'Highlands' at Dargaud in 2012.
