'Splitsville'.
Frank Baginski was the artist of the newspaper comic 'Plainsville' (1969-1974, syndicated by McNaught) and 'Splitsville' (1979-1981), which dealt in a funny way with divorce situations. He created the comic together with Reynolds Dodson. For Hugh Hefner's Playboy, he and Dodson made the series 'The Loner', printed in the 'Playboy Funnies' section from April 1980 on.
On 1 January 1984, Baginski was driving in Greenwich Village, when a stolen telephone truck crashed into his car. He was instantly killed, and only 45 years old.
