Comic strip by Suzzy Bailleux

Suzzy Bailleux is a Belgian illustrator and designer. Born in 1938, she studied portrait and model drawing in Antwerp, and has worked as an illustrator for magazines like Humo and Libelle. She also made drawings for schoolbooks for the Nederlandse Boekhandel and was part of Eddy Ryssack's original team at the Dupuis animation studios. She was a member of the alternative art collective Ercola from 1974, and published comic strips in publications like De Neus. Ercola was founded in November 1968 by the artists Jean-Claude Block and Jean-Claude Buytaert, author Dominique Donnet and photographer Piet Verbist, and was joined later on by Carlens, Georges Smits, Werner Goelen, Suzzy Bailleux and Wally van Looy, among other people. It was the sole representative of underground comix in Flanders in the early 1970s.
