Bang Yeong-jin started drawing during his college days, inspired by such Korean artists as Kim Yong-hwan and Kim Seong-hwan. His own series about the detective Yakdongi became a big success. His oeuvre mainly depicts Korean everyday life of the time. Later on, Bang Yeong-jin focused on school life with his comic 'Yakdongiwa Yeongpali', about Yeongpali and his friends at school. After two series of twenty books, Bang Yeong-jin cancelled his comics activities, due to rheumatism.
