Carme Barbará Geniés is one of the few female comic artists from Spain who has had her own long-running serial. Although she has illustrated many girls' comics, such as 'Florita' (Ed. Plaza), 'Azucena' (Ed. Toray), 'Sissi', 'Blanca' (both Bruguera), 'Claro de Luna' and 'Marilyn' (for Ibero Mundial), she is best known for 'Mary Noticias', which - since 21 June 1962 - appeared in 484 books and several extras published by Ibero Mundial until 1971. She later worked mainly for foreign market comics, and eventually in illustration.
