comic art by André Beautemps

After some regular art studies, André Beautemps took some courses in making comics from Eddy Paape. After winning a contest held by Lombard, Beautemps started his career in the magazine Tintin. For this magazine he created the series about pilot 'Michael Logan'. At first he wrote the scenarios himself, but soon Jean Van Hamme took over. In 1975 he worked with writer Henri Vernes on 'Le 7e Univers', an album published by Bedescope. In 1978 this talented artist died, leaving the final episode of 'Michael Logan' unfinished.
