Candorville by Darrin Bell

Darrin Bell was born in Los Angeles, California and is the son of two teachers. Bell studied political science at the University of California/Berkeley where he was an editorial cartoonist for the university's newspaper. His award-winning cartoons have appeared in many newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and on television - 60 Minutes, MTV, CNN.

Together with writer Theron Heir (pseudonym of journalist Matt Richtel), he created the daily strip 'Rudy Park' in 1999. He now does both the writing and the artwork. By 2003, Bell had his second comic strip, 'Candorville,' about a diverse group of friends in the inner city, syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group. In 'Candorville', Bell explores the political and cultural issues of our time, through the eyes of his multiethnic cast. Both his strips have been collected in books.
