Ángel Benito Gastañaga is a painter, illustrator, sculptor, designer and also an occasional comics creator. In the beginning he worked for fanzines like Octopus and his own publication Copyright. He participated in the collective works 'Los Felices 85' (1985) and '15 a la Vez' (1986). In 1987 he published the educational 'Gasteiztxo' about the history of his native Vitoria. In addition his six-page story 'La Frontera del Mundo Interior' won him first prize in a contest for amateur artists called by publisher Toutain. It was published in the 42nd issue of Zona 84 in 1987.

He contributed 'Primavera' to magazine Embero in 1989 and 'La Mirada' to magazine Habeko Mik in 1991. In 1998 he put out 'Anya, Corazón Celta' which appeared in newspaper El Periódico de Álava. In 2006 publisher Saure launched Benito's sixty-four page hardcover book 'Numancia, Estrella del Crepúsculo', a comic about the heroic resistance offered by the historical city of Numancia against the Roman invaders.
