Peter Blegvad is mainly active as a musician and singer-songwriter, but his oblique wit has also found expression in drawing, writing and pedagogy. He has been member of several bands, including the avant-pop band Slapp Happy. Between 1992 and 1999 he published his surreal comic strip 'Leviathan' in The Independent. In 2001 a book collection was published called 'The book of Leviathan'. The beautiful artwork recalls the old American artistic tradition and is reminiscent of the work of Chris Ware. Other comics and illustrations by Blegvad have appeared in The Ganzfeld and Ben Katchor's Picture Story 2.
