Bret Blevins has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He did some cartooning for a local newspaper, before he began working as a professional comic artist in 1981. He started out working for Marvel Comics, drawing adaptations of 'The Dark Crystal', 'Krull' and 'The Last Starfighter'. He did fill-ins on several titles before working for Marvel's Epic imprint on titles like 'The Bozz Chronicles' and 'Clive Barker's Nightbreed'.

By 1987 he began his run on 'New Mutants, and he was a regular on the 'Strange Tales' anthology, for which he drew 'Cloak and Dagger'. This was followed by a run on 'Sleepwalker'. Blevins has also worked for DC and Dark Horse, especially on 'Batman', 'Superman' and 'Star Wars'. He has also contributed to Draw! Magazine and Disney Magazine. In 2006 he was one of the artists of 'Redwall: The Graphic Novel', published by Philomel.

Blevins has worked in the field of animation since 1996, contributing to Warner Brothers' 'Superman' cartoons, followed by 'Batman', 'Batman Beyond', 'Static Shock' and 'The Justice League of America'.
