Newspaper artist Howard Boughner worked as an assistant on 'Dumb Dora' (1931-1936) and 'Wash Tubbs'. Among his own creations are 'Mac' (1938-1941), 'Peter and Polly in Toyland' (1939) and the comic panel 'Hold Everything' (1941-1945). He was the writer of the strips 'Penny' (drawn by Harry Haenigsen) and 'Dotty Dripple' (drawn by Jim McMenamy and later Buford Tune)
