Peter Bramley was the first art director of the National Lampoon, and a contributor to several underground comix of the 1970s. He co-founded Cloud Studio in New York City in 1967, where did his first works in the field of comics and illustration. He joined the Lampoon in 1970, and directed the magazine during its first year together with Bill Skurski. He continued to draw for the National Lampoon until 1973. Afterwards, he started some short-lived humor magazines and contributed to such underground comic books as Cloud Comix #1 and 2, Drool #1 and All Duck #1. He also illustrated for various major magazines. He moved to St. Peterburg in 1984, where he became known for painting murals with natural themes. He died in April 2005.
