From Fliegende Blätter by Hans Brasch

Hans Brasch was a German expressionist painter. He was born in Karlsruhe, where he also attended the Academy of Fine Arts. He was a pupil of Hans Thoma between 1904 and 1908 and subsequently of Ferdinand Hodler in Genf. Around 1900 he was a contributor to Fliegende Blätter, a German non political satirical weekly. He settled in Frankfurt in 1913 and served as a soldier during World War I. He was specialized in portraits, but he also painted flowers and mountain and forest landscapes. He has lived in Stuttgart since 1930.
