Kaare Bratung made comic adaptations of classic novel in the 1940s. For the series EO's Norkse Bilde-Seriar, he drew three books of J.F. Cooper's Indian series 'Overfallet på Beverborgen' in 1942. For the magazine Se Og Les, he began the realistic series 'Skatteøya' (1946) and 'Jøngehøvdingen' (1946), in cooperation with Eyvin. However, Bratung and Eyvin's most famous creation was the humorous series 'Dagros', that appeared in Se Og Les from 1945. Bratung's other humorous series are 'Professoren' (1945, in Se og Les) and 'Baldrian' (1948, in Nationen).
