Ken Broeders was born in Antwerp in 1970. He has been fascinated by drawing, history and reading his entire life. He got his degree in Applied Arts from the St. Luke Institute in Antwerp in 1993. He further developed his exam project into the full-fledged comic 'Tyndall' with Luc Van Peborgh, that was published by Arboris. His historical series 'Voorbij de Steen' was also published by Arboris in 2001.
Broeders has illustrated the comics version of Edmond Rostand's 'Cyrano de Bergerac' for the Classix series of Standaard Uitgeverij. Broeders, an artist who works in direct colors, writes and draws the mystical adventure series 'Apostata' for Standaard since 2009.
In 2020 he joined 75 Dutch & Flemish comic artists to make a graphic contribution to the free collective comic book ‘Striphelden versus Corona’ (Oogachtend, Uitgeverij L, 2020). The book is intended to support comics stores who had to close their doors for two months during the lockdown at the height of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
In 2010 Broeders' 'Apostata' won the Stripvos for Best Dutch-language comic book album.
