Brousset was one of the main illustrators for the magazine Le Pèlerin of Editions de la Bonne Presse in the early 20th century. During World War I, he drew a colorful and comical series of drawings under the caption 'La Guerre Anecdotique'. He stood out for his pictures of everyday life in France during the Great War.
