Globi, der kühne Erfinder (1977)
Zürich-born artist Werner Büchi drew the 'Globi' books after the death of the character's creator, Robert Lips. After a period of heavy criticism from educators and child psychologists regarding the character's alleged racism and sexism, Büchi was the first to turn the tide, starting with the 1975 book 'Globis Glanz-Idee: Kampf dem Lärm und Schmutz!'. Büchi was succeeded by Peter Heinzer after five years. Büchi was mostly active as an advertising artist, and as a caricaturist for the Swiss magazines Nebelspalter and Die Schweizer Illustrierte.
