Hasta la Victoria!

Stefano Casini was born in Livorno, Italy in 1958. He studied at the Istituto Tecnico Industriale and the Accademia di Arti Libere in Rosignano Solvay, and later at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Florence, where he graduated in Industrial Arts in 1984. While studying, Casini worked for television as a graphic designer and copywriter. After his studies he moved to Milan, where he worked in a fashion design studio. He subsequently focused on advertising and attended the Center of Experiences and Studies of Management.

As a comic artist, he worked with Marcello Toninelli on two episodes of 'I Ragazzi di Stoner' in the magazine Adamo of Editrice Dardo in the early 1980s. Later, Casini, Toninelli and Paolo Di Pietrantonio founded Edizioni 50 and launched the mail-order magazine P.d'A. (Prova d'Autore), that later became Foxtrot. For Foxtrot, Casini created several independent stories as well as two series with Toninelli, 'La Mummia Rossa' and 'I Guanti Neri'.

Through Foxtrot, he got the opportunity to work for the Milanese publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore in 1991. Casini became one of the artists of the science fiction series 'Nathan Never', working with the scriptwriters Michele Medda, Antonio Serra and Bepi Vigna.

He also wrote and drew some one shot comic albums for the French market, including 'Démon Interieur' (1999), 'Caleb' (2001) and 'Moonlight Blues' (2005). He additionally did on 'Dampyr', another Bonelli serial, and launched his own comic series 'Hasta la Victoria!' with the French publishing house Victoria in 2007.
