Pierre Chivot was trained to become an architect, but he began a career in comic books through his friend Lucien Nortier. He started out drawing comic books in the series 'Les Grands Crimes et leurs Châtiments' in late 1947. In the early 1950s he was present in magazines like Zorro, 34 Caméra, Pierrot and Vaillant. Chivot then ventured into animation. He eventually became director of a cinema in Ermont.
