Augusto Cid was a politically conscious Portuguese comic artist/cartoonist. He gave his philosophies on society and the human nature in 'Koko', a series set in prehistoric times. In his work, he made ironic comments about the army and colonies, which was probably why he was one of the few artists whose work was forbidden after the military revolution on April 25, 1974.
In the 1980s, Augusto Cid made the series 'Bicas e Bocas' in O Diabo. In the 1990s, he worked as a cartoonist for the journal Independente.
