Sandro Cocco was born in Antwerp as the son of an Italian (Sardinian) father and a Belgian mother. He studied Painting at Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp and Comic Art at Sint Lucas in Ghent. He published his first comic 'L'Autre Côté, histoire d'une psychose' in July 2013 with Le Moule à Gaufres, a small independent publisher located in Nancy in the north of France. He lives with his Japanese wife and two children in the southern, French-speaking part of Belgium.
