His Nibs, by Roland Coe (1948)

Roland Coe was a cartoonist and commercial artist, born in Havana, Illinois. At the age of 15, he was already contributing to the Buffalo Times and a couple of years later to the Buffalo Courier. He contributed to magazines like Collier's, Judge, Life, Saturday Evening Post, American and Esquire, and was the illustrator for 'His Nibs', an advertising strip for Shredded Wheat (1940s). He is also known for his 'Crosstown Cartoons', that appeared in the New York Post from 1934 onwards.
