Antoinette Collin was a comic artist working for Spirou magazine in the 1970s. She was one of the first students of Eddy Paape at the comics atelier of the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. She illustrated two stories in the series 'Les Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul' by Octave Joly in 1972 and 1973, and then associated herself with Jean-Marie Brouyère for the psychedelic science fiction comic 'Les Naufragés de l'Escalator' between 1973 and 1975. This modern version of 'Alice in Wonderland' was situated in the world of consumption, where escalators lead the main characters to strange places. In 1975 and 1976, Collin additionally made about a dozen gags starring the philosophical chicken 'Christobald', together with scriptwriter Raoul Cauvin. Antoinette Collin then left the field of comics.
