The Pro

Amanda Conner is the daughter of two artists, and started pilfering their art supplies at an early age. She grew up in Florida, and later moved to Connecticut. She studied art at the Joe Kubert School in New Jersey. She got married, opened a comic store with her husband, got divorced, and now she lives in Brooklyn. She has worked as a comic artist for most of the big comics, such as Marvel, Image Comics, DC Comics and Event Comics.

She has drawn for such Marvel titles as 'Yellowjacket', 'Avengers West Coast', 'Barbie' and 'Gargoyles' from 1988 through the mid-1990s. She has also worked for Archie Comics ('Archie', 'Bayou Billy', 1989-90) and Claypool Comics ('Soulsearchers and Company', 1993-95). Among her other credits are 'Excalibur', 'Lois Lane' and 'The Pro', but most notably 'Vampirella'. She works with inker Jimmy Palmiotti, and together they produce impressive clear artwork.

Conner, Palmiotti, and writer Justin Gray work together via their multimedia entertainment company PaperFilms. They collaborated on the 'Terra' mini-series, which premiered in November 2009, and on the first 12 issues of the 'Power Girl' ongoing series in 2009 and 2010. Besides comics, Conner's work can be seen in such places as ABC'S Nightline, the New York Times, MAD Magazine, Revolver and character designs for film and television.
