'Mox Nox 3'.
Joan Cornellà Vázquez, pseudonym of Renato Valdivieso, is a Spanish artist of absurd comics and a regular contributor to El Jueves magazine. He has also contributed to La cultura del Duodeno, El Periódico, Amaníaco, TMEO, the daily Ara and Quimera. In 2009, he won the Josep Coll Award for his book 'Abulio'. A selection of his black-and-white comics was collected in the book 'Francasa Mejor' (2012) by Acaba. Another collection, called 'Mox Nox' was issued by Bang Ediciones in 2013. Cornellà's work is characterized by its non-consequential violence and absurd surrealism.
His work received praise from veteran cartoonists Pieter De Poortere and Kamagurka.
