R. L. Crabb has made several illustrations for magazines and books, especially a number of children's books by Brian Jones, and has a daily comic strip called 'Roadskill', involving the antics of a squirrel attempting to cross the road of life, and the things that happen along the way. Crabb's comics have been published as 'Adventures of the Fringe', 'Planet of Geeks' and 'The Fauna Rebellion'. His work also appeared in magazine Buzzard.
