Comic art by John Croezen

Groningen-based comic artist and animator John Croezen studied at the Minerva Academy for a while, before working as a freelancer for advertising agencies. He started drawing comic strips with a friend for student, education and other government papers. He has mainly worked in animation, including work for commercials and children's programs, as well as picture book animation. He has worked with comedian Herman Finkers on the animated films 'Kroamschudd'n in Mariaparochie' and 'MacBeth'.

Among Croezen's comic strips are 'Gronings Geertje' (for a local cultural paper) and 'Hademar en Moem'. He succeeded Jan Kruis on the board of the Dutch Comics Museum in Groningen and he was the initiator of the digital comic magazine Kwynk, that featured new and old work by Kruis, as well as work by other authors.
