Greg Curfman was born in Newport News, Virginia. While in college, he created and self-published his first strip, 'Figleaves'. He studied marketing and computer science and got a job writing software for IBM. The birth of his four children gave him the inspiration to start a new daily strip, 'Meg!', based on his own experiences.
