Erwin de Bie was born in Wondelgem and is active as a painter and comic artist. He has published several comic series for newspapers and magazines in the late 1970s and early 1980s, such as 'De Rosse Wasser', 'De Avonturen van Vos en Donder', 'Brouwer Magellaan' and 'De Grommelsnoezen'. He also published comics with 'Noach' in the Robbedoes+ specials. In 1996, he produced the "largest comic panel in the world" for the city of Ghent. He is best known for his Beatles paintings and canvases devoted to the cycling sport.
