Marissa Delbressine is active in the fields of animation, illustration and comics. Based in Beek, Limburg, she founded the manga-inspired small press group OpenMinded, specialized in romantic stories for female readers, in 2004. Since 2006, whe is also involved with Mangafique!, a collective for a new generation of manga artists.

Delbressine got a government grant for her own graphic novel 'Itshou' in 2009, and she also works on a manga project for the German publisher Fireangels. Her 24 Hours Comic 'Zonderling' was nominated for the Plastieken Plunk 2010 and she contributed to the anthology 'Mooi is dat' in 2011. Since 2012, Delbressine is present in Eppo with the comic series 'Ward', which she makes with scriptwriter Willem Ritstier. Coco Ouwerkerk once assisted on 'Ward'. Delbressine is the driving force behind the comics paper Strips2Go, published since 2013.

Delbressine got her master in animation from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2008. She also gives workshops on animation, comic art and manga. Her animated films have been shown on national and international film festivals.
In 2020, Delbressine joined 75 Dutch & Flemish comic artists to make a graphic contribution to the free collective comic book ‘Striphelden versus Corona’ (Oogachtend, Uitgeverij L, 2020). The book is intended to support comics stores who had to close their doors for two months during the lockdown at the height of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
