Jacques Des Portes, pseudonym of Jacques Sourisseau, is a comic writer and artist from Les Portes-en-Ré at the Isle of Ré (hence his pseudonym). In 1999, he made the comic book 'Tapas au pineau' with Thierry Beesau, published by Editions PC. It was the first comic made on the Isle of Ré, and followed in 2001 by 'Le Haut Banc du Nord' and in 2003 by 'Pop Fiction', for which Des Portes provided the artwork himself.
In 2006, he made two books in the series 'Thony Banco' for Éditions du Taupinambour, the first one with art by Gilles Rochier. He then worked with writer Philippe Guichard for 'La Fille et le Puma', a landscape format-shaped book published by Objectif Mars Editions in 2011. Since 2008, he has also contributed to a series of collective books by Atelier BBZ dealing with surfing, detectives, monsters and pin-ups.
