Stéphan Desmeules grew up with comics like 'Star Wars' and 'The Hulk'. He studied art, graphics, cinema, photography and 3D. Afterwards, he worked in the video game field for several years. In 2000, he switched to comics. He wrote and drew 'L'Oeil de Boeuf' under the pseudonym Stef D. at the publishing house Les 400 Coups. He then teamed up with the Belgian writer St Jo to create the series 'Les Quarties de l'Étrange' at the French publishing house Albin Michel. He signs this series St Ef.
