L'Ancêtre Programme
Giuseppe Di Bernardo is a comic artist from Florence. His first work was illustrating 'Dylan Dog' and 'Martin Mystère' roleplaying games in the early 1990s. He drew his first comic stories in the horror magazines Demon Story and Satanico in 1994. In that same year, he created the character of 'Desdy Metus'. In the following years, he did pencil jobs for Bonelli ('Mister No') and Star Comics ('Samuel Sand'), while also contributing erotic stories to Stefano Trentini's magazine Selen.
He began an association with inker Jacopo Brandi while working for Selen, and the duo continued their collaboration with an issue in the series 'Lazarus Ledd' and with the comics 'Yndi@, la nuova genesi' and 'Presenze, il fumetto ufologico-Chirurgia parallela'. Di Bernardo and Brandi have also worked with the French scriptwriter Anne Ploy on the SF series 'L'Ancêtre Programmé' and 'Le Silence de la terre' at Les Humanoïdes Associés in 2003. Di Bernardo is a regular artist for 'Diabolik' with the publishing house Astorina since 2002. He is furthermore an editor with Star Comics and a teacher at the International School of Comics in Florence.
