Michael Dialynas is a comic artist from Athens, Greece, who has worked on several US comic books since 2013. He started out self-publishing three issues of his FreeYourLine zine (2003-2007) and the comic book 'The Sneaky Stories of Snitch & Snatch' (2009). He was proclaimed as "Best New Artist" by the comics supplement 9 Magazine of the daily newspaper Eleftherotypia in 2005. The artist has won several local awards for his indie work in the years that followed, as well as the "Honour Award for Excellence Abroad" by the Greek Comics Awards in 2015 and 2016. Dialynas was an in-house illustrator for advertising company Ashley & Holmes between 2008 and 2010, and has worked as a freelancer for the ad agencies Bold ogilvy, Mscomm, Connection3 and Feelgood, and the book publishers Patakis, Psychogios and Cracked.com.
In his native tongue he has published the graphic novel 'Trinkets: an Attic Full of Stories' (2011) and the series 'Swan Songs' (2010-2011), both from Comicdom Press. Among his early US work are the mini series 'Amala's Blade' (2012-2014) with writer Steve Horton for Dark Horse Comics, his contributions to the 'Spera' series at Archaia Entertainment (2013) and to Marvel's 'Superior Spider-Man Team Up Special' (2013). He drew a few issues of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' for IDW (2016) and a short story for DC's 'Gotham Academy' (2016). Since 2014, Dialynas is the artist of the horror comic book 'The Woods', which is written by James Tynion IV for Boom! Studios.
