Reinder Dijkhuis worked as a web designer for a software firm, and has been making comics in the Dutch small-press scene since the 1990s. He studied English at the University of Groningen, where he also edited the student newspaper. Over the years, he published several hundred pages of material in small photocopied magazines and on the Internet (like the 'Chronicles of the Witch Queen' website).

In the mid-1990s he edited the amateur comic magazine Impuls. Among his creations are 'Courtly Manners' and 'Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan' (1991). He was also present in magazine Hello You! with his 'Gang of 4' comic. He shares a studio with cartoonist Jeroen Jager in Groningen, and also has a daytime job as a translator.
