Abélard

Renaud Dillies, born in Lille, got his artistic education at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai. He had his apprenticeship with the magazine Spirou, where he drew the backgrounds of Frédéric Jannin's comics and inked Clarke's 'Mélusine'. He combined his pasion of both comics and music in his debut comic, 'Betty Blues', published by Paquet publishers in 2003 and won him the prize for best debut at the Angoulême comic festival.

Paquet also published his next books, 'Sumato' (2004), 'Mister Plumb' (with Régis Hautière, 2006) and 'Mélodie du Crépuscule' (2006). He turned to Dargaud in 2009 and created 'Bulles et Nacelle'. This was followed by 'Abélard' in 2011, a new collaboration with Régis Hautière.

Under the pseudonym Jack, he has illustrated several humorous comics about sports for Bamboo ('Les Foot Maniacs', 'Tout sur le Rugby') as well as erotic stories for the series 'Salut les coquines' ('Rooie Oortjes') by Arboris.
