Nelvana of the Northern Lights by Adrian Dingle
Nelvana of the Northern Lights (Super Duper Comics #4)

Adrian Dingle was born in Wales and came to Canada at the age of three. During the 1930s, he worked as a commercial artist to supplement his career as a painter. He co-founded the publishing company Hillborough Studio with René Kulbach in 1941, where he created the first Canadian national superhero: 'Nelvana of the Northern Lights'. Hillborough merged with Bell Features a year later, and Dingle continued his career as both art director and artist at Bell.

In addition to 'Nelvana', he created new characters like 'The Penguin' and 'Nils Grant, Private Investigator'. He was also a versatile cover artist. In the late 1940s, when the Canadian comics market collapsed, Dingle focused more on book and magazine illustration. Later on, he became famous for his landscape paintings.
