'Island of Amazement'.
Will Donald was one of the first Australian comic artists. He worked for Quit and The Gadfly around 1906, as well as several newspapers in Sydney in the 1920s. He created many comic strips and cartoons, sometimes in cooperation with Hal English, such as 'Fashion Plate Fanny' (1923-1931), 'Captain Katseye', 'Island of Amazement', 'Mystery Island', 'Skelt Dorgan's Treasure', 'Special Messenger' and 'Rod the Reckless'.

Donald often worked together with Hal English, on comics like 'The Secret Formula', 'Enemy Agent', 'Murder in the Night', 'The Swinging Death', 'The Black Ape', 'The Rubber Foot Mystery' and 'Saboteurs'. Will Donald's graphic style was characterized by a simplistic outline, and many of his characters are recognizable by their hook noses.
In 2023, he received the Ledger of Honour and was inducted in the Australian Comics Hall of Fame.
